Jerick McKinnon Tears ACL
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports that 49ers RB Jerick McKinnon tore his ACL in practice on Saturday.
Alfred Morris, who had his two best seasons as a Redskin when current S.F. head coach Kyle Shanahan was his offensive coordinator, is likely to be the early-down and short-yardage option. With only 57 catches in 92 career games, Morris will sit in passing situations, limiting his upside and making him a RB3 in PPR and Half-PPR leagues. Matt Breida missed most of the preseason with a shoulder injury but has been cleared to practice. He may not be at full speed to start the year, but soon enough he will carve out a huge role on passing downs and could challenge Morris for early-down work. Breida is just below Morris in our season-long rankings, but we think Breida has more long-term upside later in the season since he has the three-down skills Morris lacks.
